Bluewater Bio secures further seven phosphorus removal contracts with Wessex Water
Recognised as the fastest-growing UK and European water solutions provider, the Company’s FilterClear technology continues to deliver superior performance in helping Water companies achieve tight consents across the UK
Having successfully executed 4 phosphorus removal contracts with Wessex Water in 2021, BwB were invited to bid on a competitive framework tender process for the next batch of schemes. FilterClear was successful in showcasing its technical and commercial credentials and has subsequently been awarded a significant proportion of Wessex Water’s upcoming phosphorus removal programme.
Andrew Bibby, UK Business Development Manager of BwB, commented: “FilterClear’s proven performance, reliability and lowest operational cost in stringent P removal applications is now being recognised by most UK water companies. The awards from Wessex add to a quickly growing UK reference list of tight TP consent works, where FilterClear’s robust performance is clearly being demonstrated.”
The projects, due to be delivered over the next two years, range in size from 28 L/s, at Bishops Lydeard STW, to the largest site at Yeovil STW, where FilterClear will treat nearly 400 L/s. One of the recognised merits of FilterClear is its ability to satisfy not only this AMP’s requirements, but also the future AMP 8 requirement without additional costs.
Fergus Rooksby, Commercial Director of Bluewater Bio, added: “It’s been a pleasure working closely with Wessex, who from the outset recognised the challenges that the large UK P removal programme was going to exert on the supply chain and have proactively sought early supply chain engagement and brought forward schemes to avoid the inevitable congestion likely to occur later in the AMP. Their optioneering and delivery teams have sought to standardise the roll-out wherever possible bringing further efficiencies to design, construction and the resulting assets.”
